WERE MOVING! August 3, 2008  
Celestial Meads is moving to a larger and nicer facility. We will be closed to the public between August 3rd and August 22nd. On August 23rd from Noon-5:00PM we will hold a Grand Opening at the new location, at 600 W. 58th Ave., Suite B. As usual there is no charge for this event and there will be free snacks and mead samples. Mead will also be available for purchase. DIRECTIONS:  Go south on Arctic Blvd past International Airport Rd. Before the railroad tracks, turn left onto 58th (look for Warfield's Auto Repair) and go about 600 ft, then turn right into the parking lot directly across the street from Arctic Self Storage. We will have a white folding sign pointing the way. NEW HOURS:  After August 23rd, we will be open each Saturday from Noon-3:00PM

OPEN HOUSE : May 31, 2008  noon-5:00pm
Celestial Meads is having an open house to celebrate the arrival of summer in Alaska. We will be serving samples of twelve meads plus snacks and there is no charge for this event. Meadmaster Mike will be there talking about honey and mead. Mead will be available for purchase.

ANCHOR PUB & CLUB MEAD DINNER : April 4, 2008  7:00p
Executive Chef Hannah Robertson has come up with a great menu of Indian and Thai cuisine to pair with five Celestial Meads. Following is a description of the food and mead.

Papaya salad with honey dressing paired with Luz Del Sol, a semi-sweet traditional mead made with orange blossom honey.

Smoked duck spring roll served with a spiced cherry dipping sauce paired with Razzery Cyser, a gold medal winning cyser with sour cherries and raspberries.

Beef samosa served with apple chutney paired with Belgique, a sweet methyglyn made with coriander and bitter orange peel.

Clams steamed in gingerly mead, red onions, chili and cilantro paired with Gingerly, a sweet mead made with fresh ginger and red currants.

Tropical fruit salad, tossed in a raspberry simple syrup paired with Rubyfruit, a sweet melomel made with handpicked Alaskan raspberries.

The dinner starts at 7:00p on April 4th and the cost is $50.00 per person.  I will be there to talk about honey, mead and the DNA sequence of saccharomyces cerevisiae (OK, I made the last part up). Please call the Anchor Pub & Club (677-7979) for reservations.

It will be the debut for three new meads; a sweet tupelo honey and black currant melomel, a sweet basswood honey and red currant melomel and a semi-sweet methyglyn with sourwood honey, coriander and star anise.
